Just As He Said He Would
"Then the Lord did exactly what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant, and she gave a son to Abraham in his old age. It all happened at the time had said it would." Gen 21:1 & 2
Sarah laughed to herself, 'How can I, a woman of advanced age have a child?' She wondered to herself, as she overheard the angel of the Lord promise her a child.
The Bible says that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ever ask or think. God is able to cause us to stand in amazement at the extent of his promises.
God's ability to quickly turn around our present situation can bring about bewilderment.
His master plan for our lives can even cause us to scratch our heads. I'm quite sure that as Sarah held her baby within a year of the promise and said to herself, 'Who would have thought? Nobody but God!'
God delights in showing his power and our faith in him will make the journey to the promise more fulfilling. Faith will give us the perseverance to go forward in spite of daunting odds.
It's our faith that will give us the urgency to continue in prayer and to remain steadfast in Christ. It's our faith that will allow us to wait expectantly on God. It is through faith that we will believe He will do just as he said he would do.
The singer Andre Crouch sung in his popular 1980's song, "I've Got Confidence God is gonna see me through. No matter what the case may be. I know he's gonna fix it for me.
We have to know in our innermost being that God is going to see us through.
Do you have confidence in God today?
